Currently, we select the locale (i.e., the translation we use) based on the system locale. This is not always desirable, so we should add a possibility to configure the locale we use.

I'd suggest a command line switch, since that would make it easily accessible in main() where we need it, and we don't need to put yet another rarely-used setting in our config dialog.
